Quick Tips

1. Make sure your file is set to CMYK

Files uploaded in other colour formats ie RGB may effect image quality and can produce ‘washed out’ prints)

2. Paste board size

Please ensure that your pasteboard (Document dimensions) are set correctly and is not set larger than the print you require as you will be charged for the extra white space around the print. If you do require extra white area around the extremities of the print please make sure you set the pasteboard accordingly including the white space which you require.

3. DPI (Resolution)

For the best results we recommend that all images are set to at least 100dpi at actual size. If you are submitting an image which is for example set at 50% actual size please remember that your image will need to be set at 200dpi to allow for scaling. Please note: This is just a standard rule and there are circumstances when the image can drop below 100dpi. ie: when producing a large backdrop etc.

For fine art prints it is always advisable to set your dpi at around 200dpi for optimum print quality.

4. Nesting (Grouping Prints Together)

If you have various prints it is more cost effective and less time consuming to group together your prints in Adobe Illustrator or a similar program and uploading your prints in 1 file. Please remember that our print maximum print width is 1300mm .If in doubt please read our ‘Nesting’ information below.

5. Fonts

We always advise our customer to ‘create outlines’ (Convert to paths) on all fonts before saving out a pdf file. This is a precautionary measure but is always worth doing

6. Saving your file

Saving a PDF: When saving your pdf file please ensure you save as ‘press quality’ or the highest quality available. (if in doubt please read print setup information below)

Saving a JPEG: When saving your jpeg file it is always advisable to save your file at maximum quality to get the best print results. (again if in doubt please refer to print setup guide below)

7. Check your file before you upload

Now you have saved out your file correctly. Please re-open the file you are going to upload and check for errors, image quality etc. Once you are happy with the file please go to the upload section of our site and follow the on-screen instructions.
